INGREDIENTS:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 1/2 tsp dry active yeast (1 pkg)
- 1 1/4 cup warm water
DIRECTIONS:
- Combine all dry ingredients
- Add water
- Stir ingredients with a wooden spoon or hands to form the dough. Make sure the ingredients are combined well.
- Cover dough and let rise for 1 hour
- Preheat oven to 450 F with dutch oven and lid inside
- On parchment paper, shape with flour, let sit covered for 20 min
- Transfer into dutch oven
- Bake for 30 min with lid on. Remove lid and bake 5-10 minutes more until golden brown.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- You can substitute 1 cup of all-purpose flour for wheat flour to make wheat bread
- You can add 2 tsp garlic powder to make the bread a garlic bread, as well as any other dried herb flavors
