Kaese Spaetzle

 

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/8 cup 2% milk
  • 3 tbs butter
  • 1 onion
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded swiss cheese
Directions:
  1. Sift together
  • flour
  • nutmeg
  • salt & pepper
  1. Beat eggs in medium bowl
  2. Alternately mix in milk & flour until smooth
  3. Let stand 30 minutes
  4. Boil large pot of water (slightly salted)
  5. Press batter through spaetzle press into water
  6. When batter floats to top, remove with slotted spoon
  7. Mix in 1 cup shredded cheese
  8. Melt butter in saucepan, cook onion until golden
  9. Stir in sapetzle and remaining cheese until well blended
  10. Serve immediately
