Hoisin Sauce

 Ingredients

Tofu dipped in sauce

  • 4 Tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Peanut butter or Tahini
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • pinch of ginger powder
  • pinch of turmeric for color
  • 2-3 Tbs Gochujang
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper

Directions
  • Simply mix all ingredients by hand and add to any dish.

Lighter for chicken and pork. Darker for beef and game. Sweeter for Dim Sum. The commercial recipe uses Black bean paste. You can sub out peanut butter for tahini as well
